Variety: 95% ‘tinta del país’ Tempranillo 5% Albillo
Region: Roa, Ribera del Duero, Spain
Vineyards: De Chiripa Vineyard
Soil: Sandy loam soil, with a high lime content, chalk and clay deep below the surface.
Winemaking: After they have been harvested, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery in order to preserve the quality. Fermentation, both alcoholic and malolactic, take place in stainless steel tanks that have a capacity of 20,000 kilos. Before the final bottling, Valderiz De Chiripa is aged for 12 months in 50 % oak foudre, 30 % oak barriques and 20% concrete.
