The brilliant Oregon 2015 Roco Sparkling with Smoked Salmon as starter is a must – Forman & Field is a favourite of Scotsman, Mr Levin!

French oak matured, his namesake 2015 Mister L Sauvignon Blanc, is a wonderful match to the Turkey with chestnut stuffing and trimmings or Christmas Goose and sprouts. His dishy partner, 2010 Madame L Gamay, luscious, silky, forest berry and star anise, delicious with Pig-in-Blankets or Glazed Baked Gammon.

The 2016 Valderiz Tempranillo with its shiny, spicy, blackberry, and blackcurrant characters is an excellent match to the fruit mince pies. The trophy-winning, cellar release, Margaret River, 2012 Voyager Estate Cabernet Sauvignon with its dark berry, gravelly, and fine-grained tannins perfect when the festive wheel of Stilton comes out. And, the honeycomb, marmalade, golden pear notes of the 2018 Voyager Estate Project Cane Cut Semillon a lovely dessert match for those who have room for Christmas pudding and custard.

Celebrating David Levin MBE’s 80th ‘vintage’ – Very limited. An exceptional Sauvignon Blanc to celebrate Mr L’s special birthday, barrel fermented and matured on lees for ten months from the old vines on the Choussy vineyard. Focused grapefruit notes twinned with brioche and lotus, white peach, citrus, and elderflower with hints of artichoke, textured, flinty minerality and crisp acidity. (Normally £38.90 per bottle.)

 

2010 MADAME L GAMAY (IGP VL) CELLAR RELEASE – Organic in conversion & Vegan

Touraine–Chenonceaux, Loire Valley, France.

Cellar Release. Made from 35 and 43-year-old Gamay vines, handpicked and foot trod. It’s complex and savoury, with seductive characters of cherries and plums and hints of violets, spice, chocolate, nougat and liquorice, with silky texture and excellent length. (Normally £33.60 per bottle.)

Hand harvested parcels of fruit from our very best vineyard blocks are kept separate during vinification which includes maturation for 20 months in 50% new and 50% two-year-old French oak barriques. A wine of great structure, complexity and depth of flavour, yet also displaying elegance and balance, our Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot will reward cellaring up to 15 years. 2018 VOYAGER ESTATE PROJECT CANE CUT SEMILLON (375 mL) – Organic in conversion

The wine displays lifted aromatics of citrus with hints of honeycomb and talc, whilst the palate is clean and fresh with flavours of citrus marmalade and golden pear. A hint of French oak adds complexity and spice, with the lovely balance of sweetness and acidity ensuring the wine will complement most desserts. (Normally £23.50 per bottle.)
